Rangers personnel on Friday claimed to have recovered an arms cache, hidden underground, on information given by a detained activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
A wooden box, wrapped in a plastic bag was recovered from Khajji ground, located in Gulbahar Colony, within the jurisdiction of the Rizvia Society police station, a Rangers official stated.
Two Kalashnikovs, four pistols, mortar shells, Awan bombs and hundreds of live Kalashnikov bullets were claimed to have been found.
Currently on a 90-day remand Farid-ud-Din, assistant director accounts at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH), was arrested last month in a raid conducted at the hospital. He was also said to be a member of the ‘Medical Aid Committee’ of the MQM.
