The education non-profit Green Crescent Trust (GCT) in collaboration with the Arts Council of Pakistan has organised a daylong ‘Silver Jubilee Inter-Schools Competition and GCT Children Carnival 2019’ at the Arts Council on Saturday (today) to mark the silver jubilee of its foundation.
More than 29,000 students were enrolled in 153 existing charitable schools of GCT across Sindh. Aftab Hussain Siddiqui, Member National Assembly of Pakistan and Parliamentary Secretary on Aviation, will attend the opening ceremony while Sindh Chief Murad Ali Shah is likely to be the chief guest of the concluding ceremony of the event.
Thousands of children enrolled in GCT-run schools in remote and rural parts of Sindh will get the opportunity to take part in various non-scholastic activities, including Qirat, Naat, speeches, national anthem competitions, nelaam ghar, and tableaus.
A panel discussion will be held to deliberate upon a line of action to improve quality of education in schools belonging to underprivileged communities in the country.
The discussion will be attended by the existing and prospective donors of the GCT, concerned philanthropists, educationists and representatives of the corporate sector, who are willing to support and uplift the school education sector.
