SHC orders Sindh to take action against locust swarms in 21 days

SUKKUR: The Sindh High Court Circuit Bench Sukkur on Thursday ordered the Sindh government to take action against locust attack within 21 days. A petitioner had maintained that the locust swarms had destroyed crops and both the Sindh and the federal governments were not taking any serious remedial action. The Additional Advocate General, Shafi Muhammed Chandio, told the court that the federal government was not cooperating with the Sindh government. He told the court that the federal govt had given them two helicopters, one of which was grounded. The Sindh High Court circuit bench ordered the Sindh government to take effective action against the locust swarms within 21 days by hiring helicopters to conduct spray.
