LAHORE: The Pakistan Rangers Punjab will be deployed at 10 different places of the provincial metropolis to maintain law and order situation.
One each platoon will be deployed at the Governor’s House, both sides of GOR I and II, Punjab Assembly, GPO Chowk, The Mall, Punjab Civil Secretariat, Aiwan-e-Adal, Supreme Court Lahore Registry, Lahore High Court, office of IG Punjab and the Punjab Institute of Cardiology. Two companies have been reserved for emergency back-up.
The deployment is being made on the request of Punjab home department after the legal fraternity attacked an institution catering for patients with heart-related complications.
The Lahore police spokesman said that rangers will only be deployed at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology and Lahore High Court. He said that the remaining members of the force will be reserved to meet any untoward incident.
