State functionaries received from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi cheques amounting to Rs700 million in a ceremony held on Wednesday.
The anti-graft watchdog recovered the looted money and retuned it back to the relevant departments, a NAB spokesperson said.
Recipients of cheques included the Government of Sindh, the Karachi Development Authority, the National Fertilizer Marketing Ltd and the Federal Board of Revenue. The ceremony held at the NAB office in Karachi and the chief guest was Sindh Governor Imran Ismail. Speaking on the occasion, Director General NAB Karachi Brig (retd) Farooq Naser Awan reiterated his commitment and cooperation towards the welfare of business community.
