Three commit suicide, another falls to death from building

Three men allegedly ended their lives in separate incidents of suicides, while another lost his life after falling from the rooftop of his residential building on Tuesday.

Gulzar Hussain, 42, ended his life by hanging himself form ceiling fan in an Orangi Town neighbourhood. According to police, the incident of alleged suicide happened in a house located at Sector 16, Gulshan-e-Zia, within the limits of Pakistan Bazaar police station.

After police learnt about the death, cops and rescuers attended the scene and moved the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy. Police said the man was facing financial issues due to unemployment.

Another incident of suicide by hanging from ceiling fan was reported in Urdu Bazaar area, within the remits of Preedy police station. The deceased was 60-year-old Sabir, son of Kamil. Police and rescuers went to the house from the body was found. Later, the body was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi.

The third suicide was reported from Cantonment Railway station area, within the jurisdiction of Frere police station. The deceased was identified as 22-year-old Abdul Haq, son of Ghulam Rasool, police said. The body was moved to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. According to a preliminary investigation, the man shot himself dead.

Man falls to death

A 24-year-old man, identified only by his first name as Aqib, died after he apparently fell down from the rooftop of his residential building in Sector F-11, within the limits of New Karachi Industrial Area police station.

The man passed away on the spot and his body was taken the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Police said the deceased’s family took the body from the hospital without completing medico-legal formalities.
