A solo exhibition of paintings titled, ‘Deconstruction’ by Ali Karimi, will open at My Art World on Aug 27 from 12–6p.m.. It will continue till September 2. If you like abstract art, this one is for you.
“I attempt to build something by disturbing something else (destruction-structure-construction),” says the artist. “A system I find necessary; how else could I be more involved in finding some inspiration and continuing? Contemplation needs to be interrupted by action as a means of accepting everything or no acceptance at all.
“I am trying to figure out the structure of the image. How we perceive it. It is not only dots and circles, it is at the same time, a grid that is perceived as a section of colour but also as a very specific structure.”
Ali Karimi was born in Tando Mohammad Khan, Sindh, Pakistan. He graduated in 2013 from National College of Arts, Lahore. He explains that art has always been part of his family history, because some of his ancestors were Sufi poets but his interest is visual art. He has exhibited in many galleries around Pakistan, including the Sadequain gallery in Karachi.
The exhibition is being held at My Art World, 5-A, Aga Khan Road, F-6/3, Islamabad.
