Islamabad: Islamabad Art Festival 19 is screening film ‘Darling’ today (Wednesday) at 6-8 pm at Sir Syed Memorial Complex.
This is a short film from 2019 which won prestigious short Film Award at Venice Film Festival. With Alina Khan and Abdullah Malik in leads,the film deals with a trans girl from Lahore who desperately attempts to become showbiz celebrity. The extracurricular activities here also include falling love. Darling is directed by Sam Sadiq whose earlier film ‘Nice Talking to You’ also won acclaim. The screening is followed by discussion with director Sam Sadiq and Alina Khan, moderated by Madeeha Raza.
