The order was issued by the chief minister’s special assistant for empowerment of persons with disabilities, Syed Qassim Naveed Qamar, during a meeting that he had chaired.

“We all should promote international togetherness and awareness among children worldwide, and we should also focus on improving children’s welfare,” he said.

Qamar said that it was our prime duty to fully realise the rights of persons with disabilities, adding that all the stakeholders working for the same cause needed to work as a team to achieve their targets, which was the welfare of the disabled, so that they might live independent and better lives.

Universal Children’s Day is observed on November 20 and International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated on December 3.

The CM’s special assistant asked the relevant officials to devise a comprehensive plan in this regard because he said the Sindh government was fully committed to bringing a positive change in the lives of children and the disabled.
