Rangers arrest 26 suspects in raids

During their ongoing targeted operation, the Sindh Rangers arrested 26 more suspects, including dacoits, from different parts of the city, the spokesman for the paramilitary force said on Sunday.

The soldiers conducted targeted raids in the North Karachi Industrial Area, Khokhrapar, Awami Colony, Brigade, Ferozabad, Ittehad Town and Korangi areas, from where they arrested 18 suspects.

The detainees were identified as Imran Khan, alias Ali Boota, Asif, Zarshad, Sartaj, Alam Khan, Khurram, Khadim Hussain, Muhammad Anees, Nabil Ahmed, Ahmed Jaan, Mursaleen, Mithu, Suraj, Nasir Ali, Syed Rehman Ali, Osama, Muhammad Asad and Muhammad Shabbir.

They were allegedly involved in armed robberies, drug peddling, dacoities and street crime. The Rangers also carried out a raid in the Gulshan-e-Maymar neighbourhood, from where they arrested one Abdul Rehman for his alleged involvement in illegal sale and purchase of weapons as well as in other heinous crimes.

The soldiers also conducted raids in the Saddar, Gulshan-e-Maymar and Ferozabad areas, from where they arrested seven suspects, who were identified as Mehar Ali, Irfan, Nadir Khan, Jamal Khan, Kamal Khan, Muhammad Nadeem and Abdul Haq. They had allegedly been involved in drug peddling and operating drug dens.

The paramilitary force also confiscated weapons, looted items and narcotics from the possession of the arrested suspects, who were later given into the custody of the local police for taking further action.
