The Fleet Operators Association of Pakistan, United Goods Transport Alliance Pakistan, Karachi Goods Carrier Association and All Pakistan Goods Transport Owners Association have agreed that they will completely abide by the National Highways Safety Ordinance (NHSO) 2000 in complete letter and spirit in general and the axle load regime in particular as directed by the Islamabad High Court everywhere in the country including the M9 Motorway.

The decision was made earlier this month in a meeting of representatives of the bodies on November 6 in which the associations vowed to oppose the proposal of the government to defer the implementation of the NHSO 2000, on the M9 Motorway specifically, as the law was promulgated to ensure road safety by regulating the loads allowed on various types of vehicles.

The associations decided that the goods transporters across the country will not allow any overloading on their vehicles.
