in Faisalabad roof collapse incidents

FAISALABAD: Two brothers were killed and seven others injured in different incidents of roof collapse here on Sunday.
In the first incident, Shakeel Ahmad (18), Raheel (14), Adeel and their sister Mehrun Nisa were present in their house when its roof collapsed at Chak 61, Narwala Road, in Sandal Bar police limits. As a result, Shakeel and Raheel were killed on the spot while their brother Adeel and sister were injured. The injured brother and sister were shifted to the Civil Hospital.
In the second incident, Rafia Bibi and her brother Akbar Ali were seriously injured when the roof of their house caved in at Mohallah Chibban. The injured were shifted to the Allied Hospital. In the third incident, Razia Bibi, Asif and Akbar Ali were injured when the roof of their house collapsed on Chibban Road. It is worth mentioning that roofs of the dilapidated houses caved in due to the rains, which lashed the city during the last two days.
BIKER KILLED: A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident here on Sunday.
Shah Muhammad Omar of Chak 566/GB was knocked down by another motorcyclist Muhammad Asif when he was going to Jaranwala. As a result, he died on the spot. It is learnt that Muhammad Asif had an enmity with Muhammad Omar. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
PATWARI, LANDOWNER HELD: The FIA has arrested a patwari and a landowner for fraud.
The FIA team led by Inspector Shoaib Haroon raided and arrested Patwari Hafizur Rehman and landowner Rana Anwar Ali of Chak 257/RB on a charge of fraudulently transferring state land in name of Shoaib Ahmad.

Faisalabad traders to besiege FBR Headquarters on 18th

FAISALABAD: The Anjuman-e-Tajran (Supreme) and Allied group have decided to besiege the FBR Headquarters against the imposition of 0.3 per cent withholding tax on bank transactions in Islamabad on August 18. The decision was taken in a meeting of the traders held here on Sunday. Anjuman-e-Tajran president Javed Zafar presided over the meeting.
