Allegedly drunk and out of control, Ali Saleem, a popular actor who plays the role of ‘Begum Nawazish Ali’, landed in a police lockup late Tuesday night. The cops arrested him allegedly in a badly drunk condition waving a bottle of Scotch whiskey on a road at Markaz F-10, police said.
The Shalimar Police registered a criminal case (FIR No. 232) under Sections 4 and 3 Hadd and confined him in the lockup.
The FIR said police received information on telephone late Tuesday night that a drunken man was shouting and using abusive language. When a police team reached Service Road near Al-Maroof Hospital, they spotted a man riding a Honda car, bearing registration number AZZ-607-Sindh, waving a whisky bottle in the air.
He was taken to the police station where he introduced himself as TV actor and anchor known as ‘Begum Nawazish Ali’. He was identified as Ali Saleem, son of Mohammad Saleem, resident of House 1486, Aziz Bhatti Road, Rawalpindi.
Earlier, Ali Saleem was arrested on May 27, 2013, by the Bhara Kahu Police on the complaint of his mother Farzana Saleem for allegedly beating her at her residence in Banigala when he was out of his senses after getting drunk.
