MARDAN: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) provincial President Senator Khanzada Khan on Monday slammed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government after accusing it of poor governance and said that it had failed to provide any relief to the masses.
“Those, who were earlier making tall claims to root out corruption from the province, are now busy blaming each other for malpractices and favouritism,” he said while talking to The News.Khanzada Khan said it was pathetic that the PTI minister for minerals Ziaullah Afridi was arrested by Ehtesab Commission on corruption charges while the former minister and secretaries were now accusing Chief Minister Pervez Khattak of committing corruption and nepotism.
“A few months ago, the PTI leaders levelled charges of corruption against Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) and kicked its ministers out from the government but now they are again making alliance with it and giving berths to its MPAs in the cabinet,” he deplored. He said that during the previous PPP tenure, efforts were made to fail its government but the party faced every challenge with courage.
The PPP leader questioned as to why the media, courts and other intuitions were now silent on corruption scandals of federal and provincial governments. He added that the PTI claimed that it had changed police culture in the province and rooted out corruption from the department, but facts belied such assertions.
Enumerating the achievements of the PPP government, he said it had provided electricity and Sui gas facilities to far-off areas of KP and jobs to thousands of educated and skilled youth. To a query, Khanzada Khan said that he had been an ordinary worker of the PPP since long and would prefer to remain so. The PPP leader said that he would convene a meeting of the senior party workers after Eid and motivate them to take part in the party political activities.
Khanzada Khan added that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto
