The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday demanded of the Sindh government and the city administration to take immediate province-wide measures to control the dengue outbreak.
PTI Karachi President Ali Zaidi stated that according to media reports, 623 people had so far died of the viral disease in Sindh out of which 602 were reported from the metropolis only.
Lamenting the Sindh Health Minister’s absence, Zaidi demanded to know what measures had the minister taken so far especially after the government’s dismal performance during the intense heat spell in the city.
Suggesting removal of stagnant water accumulated anywhere in the city, cleaning up drains and sewers, spraying mosquito repellent in areas, he also demanded extensive awareness campaigns through media.
