National Book Foundation (NBF) has completed three-day workshop for authors to make them well acquainted with the important task of textbooks writing, developing and presenting for them.
The workshop organised under its series of textbooks development, with the collaboration of GIZ, an esteemed organization of Germany, working specially in the field of education.A large number of authors and educationists participated in the workshop and discussed in detail different aspects of textbook development.
On the first day of the moot held at Curriculum Wing, Islamabad, Nighat Lone, Principal Technical Advisor of GIZ Basic Education Project briefed the participants with the basic salient rules for text books development.
The first day workshop was focussed for new comers as they were well-aware about steps, benchmarks and parameters of Textbook Development.The last two day workshop was organized at NBF Head Office in which the renewed textbook development expert, Prof. Dr. Attash Durrani , member of core- committee of National Curriculum Council (NCC) was the core speaker.
Many experts, scholars, textbooks authors and educationists attended this valuable activity. He elaborated in length the Matrix Technique, Bloom’s Taxonomy and main steps undertaking during textbooks development at par with international standards.
He delivered lecture on topic of textbook development throwing light and elaborating the points such as how to develop, what major steps to be taken, how to start and wind-up the task of textbook development keeping in view Bloom’s Taxonomy Theory, Style Guide and parameters.
The Managing Director, NBF, Dr. Inam ul Haq Javeid sharing his views with the participants said National Book Foundation is playing a vital role in promotion of book culture, dissemination of knowledge and introducing literary activities far and wide in the country.

completed its hectic job of textbooks development at international standard, completed delivery task of these textbooks to students of FDE institutions well in time,” he said.
He emphasized authors to maintain high standard of NBF textbooks with respect to content, layout, design and parameters of textbook development.He further said that both organizations, NBF and GIZ have a same aim and goal to achieve standardized benchmarking in textbooks and it is the main purpose of holding these workshops for textbooks authors as well.
On second day, GIZ Technical Advisor, Ayesha Fazl ur Rahman and Component Coordinator, Sabeel Kiani of GIZ, Basic Education Project conducted workshop and activities based presentations.
The textbooks authors thanked NBF and GIZ holding of this brain storming useful and valuable informative workshops for them with learning material based on theories as well as practical knowledge of textbook development.
NBF has been playing its central role in the textbooks development at international standard for last many years.It was endorsed as Federal Textbook Board inscribed on newly developed, printed textbooks from Play Group to Grade-XII. Recently, NBF had geared-up and completed its task to provide textbooks to the students of ICT students working under FDE well in time.
