Moot on energy conservation held

SIALKOT: A seminar was held on Tuesday in a private university under the auspices of Punjab Energy Efficiency and Conservation Agency (PEECA) of the Energy Department of the Punjab Government on the topic of 'establishment of strong ties between the government, the educational institutions and the industry to ensure energy conservation'.

Addressing the moot chief guest Malik Izhar Ahmed, program manager PEECA Abdul Rehman, vice chairman Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) Mian Usman Javed, vice chairman Surgical Instrument Manufacturers Association (SIMA) Zeeshan Tariq, Dr Aoun Haider, Syed M Bilal and other said shortage of energy was the most important issue of the country.

They stressed joint efforts from the public and all departments concerned to adopt efficient techniques in the production sectors.

They stressed the use of substitute energy sources and the energy efficient appliances. They also urged for effective planning in order to strengthen ties with the educational institutions and the industrial sector to increase general awareness about energy conservation. At the end, certificates and shields were given to the participants.
