NHA plantation drive ends

Islamabad : Under the Clean and Green Pakistan Week, the National Highway Authority (NHA) planted more than 76,105 plants, the spokesman for NHA said.

Clean & Green Pakistan weekly campaign from March 18 to 24, 2019 was participated by National Highway Authority officials in the country particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa–North Zone, Peshawar. The NHA officials were of the view that trees cast pleasant effect on human life and provide protection against calamities and disasters, besides appears seasonal extremity.

They said that presently National Highway Authority is implementing comprehensive plan for afforestation along existing highway network and new mega projects. Till date, they said NHA has planted more than 76,105 planted and this process will be continued in the running season. Under this campaign NHA’s Highway & Motorway Network is being cleaned and beautified with cooperation of Ministry of Climate Change, Forest Department of KP and Parks & Horticulture Authority. NHA will plant 2.6 million trees with the assistance of Ministry of Climate Change while Agriculture Department KP is also providing 11,000 olive plants to National Highway Authority.
