Four petitioners fined for trying to mislead court

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has imposed a cost of Rs50,000 each on four petitioners for trying to mislead the court on litigation on the appointment of the vice chancellor at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.Prof Dr Ijaz Ahmad, Prof Dr Abdullah and two others had filed a petition questioning the process of the recruitment of the vice chancellor before a search committee. They claimed that the search committee had deviated from directions issued by the high court in a related judgment.

Dismissing the petition, Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan observed that the record of the case showed no violation of the court’s judgment on part of the search committee.
