Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan held an important meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan. The minister apprised the premier of the steps that have already been taken in this regard including initiating the process of returning excess amounts to the consumers. The minister assured the prime minister that affected consumers will be returned their amounts in full. A complete verification of all cases would be undertaken till June 30 and their amounts will be returned to them.

Sarwar Khan said that all those found guilty would be awarded exemplary punishment. Various political developments were also discussed between prime minister and minister for petroleum. Sarwar Khan criticised the negative politics being undertaken by the PPP and termed it an attempt to destabilise the country as this negative politics is bound to fail.

He expressed his disappointment over the kind of statements being made by Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto which are reflection of Narendra Modi's statements that attempt to declare Pakistan a terrorists’ haven. Such attempts have neither succeeded in the past nor will they do now. Pakistan is a peaceful country that has achieved its hard won peace through sacrifices.
