LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership has expressed deep grief over the loss of precious human lives in the firing incident at the Christchurch mosque in New Zealand.
Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar expressed profound grief over the loss of precious human lives, including the people of Pakistan in the fatal incident.
According to a handout issued here Sunday while commiserating with the bereaved families of martyrs, the CM said the PTI leaders were standing in solidarity with them in this hour of anguish and all our sympathies were with the families of martyrs.
He thanked New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern who expressed her cohesion well with commitment to the Muslim community. Moreover, he added that Naeem Rashid, the brave son of Pakistan, without caring for his life tried to stop terrorist and embraced Shahadat. He said that whole Pakistani nation is proud of the bravery of Naeem Rashid and he is the hero of the Muslim community. The chief minister said that attack on mosques of Christchurch had trodden the sentiments of Muslims in the whole world around and this aggressive firing left everyone in tears. He said that the terrorists had engraved a history of barbarism by shedding the blood of innocent people. This horrible incident of terrorism is highly condemned and there is a dire need to take effective measures at the international level for prevention of such fanatic incidents, he said.
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar stated that Christchurch terrorism incident had once again reinforced that terrorism had nothing to do with religion. “We all have to stand united against terrorism. Pakistan has always condemned terrorism and tried to play its role in uprooting terrorism across the world” the governor said.
“We strongly condemn the terrorism incident in New Zealand and our sympathies are with victims, we urge the New Zealand government to take strong and effective measures to counter rising Islamophobia in country” said Sarwar.
Jehangir Khan Tareen, PTI’s central leader, while talking to The News stated that killing of innocent people in New Zealand was highly shocking and condemnable incident. He said the need of hour was to discourage the mindset that encouraged killing of innocent human beings.
Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda while expressing similar views said the incident had shocked the entire world and the peace-loving people around the globe. He said that terrorism perpetrated anywhere in the world could never be endorsed. He expressed sympathies with the bereaved families of the victims.
