Saudi govt shows interest in Punjab textile, automobile industry

ISLAMABAD: The Saudi Arabian government during visit of the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman showed interest in making investment in textile and automobile industry in Punjab.

Saudi Minister for Commerce Majid Abdullah Al Kassabi during stay of the high-level delegation in Islamabad held meeting with the chairman of Punjab Board of Investment and Trade Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan and discussed with him opportunities of making investments in Punjab.

The Saudi minister told the Pakistani official that a delegation from his country would soon visit industrial zones in Punjab to exploit opportunities of investment in different industries. He said that there were great opportunities of food processing and advancements in agriculture industry in Pakistan.

Tanveer Ilyas apprised the visiting dignitary about availability of inexpensive labour and steps taken by the Punjab government particularly to attract foreign investment in the province. He assured Majid Abdullah Al Kassabi that Saudi investors would be welcomed in Pakistan and they would be provided every possible facility here.

He also appraised the Saudi delegation of steps taken by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar for development of infrastructure and economic progress in Punjab. He observed the visit of the crown prince would further promote economic relations between the two countries.
