RAWALPINDI: The Veterans of Pakistan (VOP) on Monday condemned India for holding Pakistan responsible for Pulwama incident, even before initiating an inquiry.
There is absolutely no doubt that this outburst is an effort to influence minds of judges of the International Court of Justice which is presently hearing the case of Indian secret agent Kulbhushan Jadhav, it said.
A meeting of VOP chaired by its President Lt. Gen ® Ali Kuli Khan noted that India cannot mislead world opinion by levelling baseless allegations against Pakistan just to cover up its own brutalities against people of Jammu and Kashmir who are asking for their right to self-determination as promised by the United Nations.
Members of VOP were of the view that it has become the habit of the Indian government to immediately put blame on Pakistan for such incidents which are primarily, a reaction against oppressive policies. These tactics are also being used to win the support of voters and suppress the Muslim population, whom the extremist followers of Modi consider to be sympathetic to Pakistan. These extremists do not spare even the non-Muslims Indians who ask for improvement in relations with Pakistan, they said.
They observed that Jaish-e-Muhammed (JeM) is already a banned organisation in Pakistan. If India had any evidence then it should share it with our government to catch the culprits instead of beating war drums just to boost up political support.
India cannot manipulate world opinion forever. Pakistan’s one-sided bold action to open the Kartarpur Corridor is a major step towards improvement of relations with India. With the backdrop of this historical bold step, who would believe Indian story on Pulwama incident. It was high time for India to wake up to realities and take steps for implementation of UN Security Council’s Resolutions.
Vice Admiral Ahmad Tasnim, Air Marshall Masood Akhtar, Salim Gandapur, Brig Mian Mahmud, Dr Babur Zaheeruddin, Major Farouk Hamid Khan, Brig Arbi Khan, Col Dalel Khan and Brig Masud-ul-Hassan were also present in the meeting.
