The competition was organised as a part of ‘Go Green’ campaign led by the Canadian High Commission which focused on visually highlighting the environmental challenges faced in Pakistan in order to spread awareness to overcome the issues. Colourful posters effectively executing the environmental threats faced by our country were made by the students.

The prize distribution ceremony was held at SLS Islamabad Campus and was attended by students and teachers from other participating schools as well. The posters of the winners were displayed and students were given prizes and certificates. Syeda Amna from Islamabad Campus stood first whereas Aleena Tariq and Taha Khurshid won the second and third prize respectively.

Paul M. Gareau, Counsellor and Ali Shan Azhar, Political Analyst from the Canadian High Commission attended the ceremony and distributed prizes among the winners and the participants. A short skit and a story telling session highlighting the types of pollution and ways to overcome it was also held during the prize distribution ceremony followed by a question and answer session. Curious and intrigued after listening to the story, the students asked questions and discussed about the ever increasing climatic changes and ways to curb their effects.

The ceremony came to an end as some students sang some beautiful national songs followed by a thank you note by Paul M. Gareau, Counsellor at the High Commission who congratulated the winners and the participants and appreciated the schools effort to address the important issue of climate change.
