Demo against delay in construction of road

TOBA TEK SINGH: Scores of traders and shopkeepers of Pirmahal on Wednesday blocked traffic for several hours on Faisalabad-Multan Road to protest against delay in construction of dual carriageway.
The protesters were carrying placard and banners. They said that the project was launched at a cost of Rs 220 million some three months ago but the contractor disappeared after constructing some portion of the road. They said that the incomplete road project was affecting their business.
On information, police reached the spot and arrested the traders’ leader Rana Akmal but the protesters started chanting slogans against police. After sometime, police released him.
