Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah has donated a piece of land to build a sewage pumping station in his village, Egyptian Independent website reported on Sunday.
Father of the Liverpool right winger said that the land worth LE 8 million (Egyptian Pound) and is located in the village of Sharbatu, at Gharbia governorate.
Commending this act of generosity, Governor of Gharbia Ahmed Deif Sakr said that the the player is a philanthropist who gave generous donations to Egyptians in general and his village’s residents in particular.
“Salah is a role model to be followed by the youth and he is already loved by millions around the world," he was quoted by media as saying.
