Three open fire on tea stall owner for refusing extortion

TOBA TEK SINGH: Three extortionists allegedly opened fire on a tea stall owner when he refused to pay extortion at Gojra on Friday. Zahid Hussain ran a tea stall at Takia Phumman Shah locality. On the day of the incident, accused Anwar Manna and his two accomplices allegedly demanded extortion from Zahid but he refused. At this, the accused opened fire on Zahid but luckily he remained safe. The police have registered a case.

DRUG PUSHER HELD: Gojra Additional District and Sessions Judge Malik Shafiq Ahmad on Friday awarded five years imprisonment and Rs 30,000 fine to a drug pusher. According to the prosecution, Zahid Imtiaz was arrested with 3.5kg hashish.

ELECTION: PTI Gojra City president Muhammad Kashif has announced to contest the general elections from PP-119. Addressing a press conference, he claimed that he had been recommended to the party high command by the city office-bearers for the PTI ticket.

STABBED TO DEATH: A farmer was stabbed to death by his rivals at Kamalia on Friday. Accused Sajid entered the house of Faisal and allegedly stabbed him to death. Police have arrested the accused.
