The PMS Officers Association spokesman said they had planned to stage the protest in the lawn in front of CS office, but the CS called the police. An SP stopped them from entering the lawn, therefore, they staged the protest on the road outside the CS office.

He alleged the CS through police attempted to provoke the peaceful PMS officers to create an untoward situation. The PMS officers remained peaceful and did not fall into the trap of the DMG officers, he added.

The PMS officers, while wearing black armbands, kept silent for five minutes to register their protest against “delayed promotions, non-creation of DTL posts, posting of non-cadre officers against the posts of PMS officers and other problems being faced by the PMS officers since long.” They were carrying placards in favour of their demands.

PMS Officers Association President Shahid Hussain and Secretary General Naveed Shahzad led the protest demonstration. It was decided the PMS officers would wear black armbands while performing their duties across the province. It was also decided that they would gather again next Friday to stage a peaceful protest in front of the CS office. They pledged their peaceful protest would continue.
