A young woman hanged herself from the ceiling at her home situated within the remit of Kharadar police station in Lyari on Thursday.
She was identified as Bushra, 25, daughter of Amir. She had quarrelled with her parents before locking herself in her room and ending her life by hanging from a ceiling fan.
The body was found by her mother when she entered the room with the neighbours’ help.
The Kharadar police shifted the body to Civil Hospital Karachi for legal formalities.
They said the deceased wanted to marry a man of her choice but her parents were not allowing it.
Teenager run over
Meanwhile, Tanzeel, 19, was run over by a speeding vehicle near the Banaras flyover.
