Judge who moved SJC against CJ suspended

PESHAWAR: Kohat District and Session Judge Ahmed Sultan Tareen, who submitted a reference against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJ) Mian Saqib Nisar to the Supreme Judicial Council on Tuesday, was suspended and made an officer on special duty (OSD) on Wednesday.

Tareen had sent the reference to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), accusing the CJ of transgressing the constitutional limits. Another OSD at the PHC and a former district and sessions, Azeem Afridi, has also been suspended from service. Afridi had also sent references to the SJC seeking action superior judges.
