Lyari gangsters among 18 suspects arrested

The paramilitary force arrested 18 more alleged criminals, including Lyari gangsters, in the city on Wednesday.

The spokesman for the Sindh Rangers said soldiers conducted raids in Chakiwara, Baghdadi and Kalakot areas and arrested 13 men, including Kamran alias Kami and Salaasal who belongs to the Uzair Baloch. Nine of those arrested were identified as Suneel, Imran, Mohammad Saeed, Ramesh Shankar alias Gadah Garee, Ajay alias Anil, Sohaan Lal, Hanif alias DJ, Asad Ali, Mohammad Ali, Fauzia and Sidrah. All of them belong to the Zahid Ladla group.

The suspects were allegedly involved in target killings, taking extortion, supplying weapons and grenades for carrying out attacks, and drug peddling. The two women were charged with supplying hand grenades for carrying out attacks and drug peddling.

Rangers’ personnel also conducted raids in Nazimabad and Chakiwara and caught three accused, Mubashir Ali alias Boosha, Farhad and Shahid. The men were wanted in connection with robberies and street crime cases.

Swoops were also conducted by in Zaman Town and Nazimabad, where Mohammad Rafiq Al Husaini alias Maaja and Adil alias Patel were taken into custody. The accused were involved in drug peddling. Weapons, looted items and narcotics were said to have been seized from the possession of the suspects, who were later handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
