An accountability court on Tuesday indicted former Karachi Development Authority (KDA) director general Nasir Abbas and KDA in-charge charged parking Ubaid Ahmed Khan in a reference that accused them of commission of corruption of around Rs385 million.

The two pleaded not guilty, however. The court, considering a plea of the accused, ordered the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to produce its witnesses for recording their statements against Abbas and Khan on March 14.

The corruption reference against the two already under detention men was presented by NAB to the administrative judge of the accountability courts, who admitted it last week. Abbas and Khan are accused of transferring dozens of plots to different parties on the basis of fake documents. They had also allegedly converted residential plots into commercial plots in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Besides, the former KDA director general is facing charges of setting up marriage halls and petrol pumps illegally and earning billions of rupees.
