Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said 51 profiteers were challaned and imposed Rs 105,000 fine on Thursday during the ongoing crackdown against those violating government rate list.
He said the raids were conducted in Liaquatabad, Gulberg, North Nazimabad, New Karachi, Model Colony, Shah Faisal Town, Saddar, Aram Bagh, Civil Lines, Garden, Jamshed Quarters, Gulzar-e-Hijri, Orangi Town, Baldia Town, Landhi, Airport and Korangi Town areas.
The crackdown was launched under the supervision of assistant commissioners in which 25 milk sellers, one vegetable seller, five fruit vendors, 15 daily utilities sellers, and five chicken sellers were challaned. He said the action against the profiteers and hoarders would remain continue till the time they stop such acts
