Panic and frenzy spread around a Malaysian school when an elephant barged inside unannounced.
The incident was reported in Sabah’s Telupid district at the SMK Telupid School where an elephant had reportedly walked in the school’s cafeteria one morning, earlier this week causing a state of commotion taking over the school’s premises.
Despite the terror ridden environment, no injuries were reportedly caused by the encroachment of the elephant.
It was reported by the nearby Beluran district’s police chief V. Shivananthan to be the second occurrence this year after 10 elephants had reportedly trespassed the compound of the Beluran police station.
The wildlife rangers are exploring further into the matter of the herd of elephants terrorizing public spaces by trying to relocate them back into forests.
Member of the relocation team and Wildlife Rescue Unit veterinarian Diana Ramirez, has affirmed that four, more belligerent elephants have been captured and would be shifted soon.
