By-poll: PTI wins 2, QWP & ANP bag one seat each in Swat

MINGORA: The Qaumi Watan Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won one seat each of the general councillor in the Gulkada Union Council as the by-poll for the vacant local government seats was held peacefully on Tuesday.

QWP candidate Liaquat Ali bagged 366 votes and remained on the top. The PTI candidate Momin Khan received 309 votes and remained second. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate Akbarzada bagged 267 votes and was adjudged third.

There were three candidates in the field. The first and second candidates were elected to the general council seats.

The Candidate of Awami National Party Umar Khattab won the election for general seat of Shokh Darra Union Council by securing 201 votes. His rival candidate of PTI secured 141 votes.

The candidate of PTI won the seat of Kanju Union Council seat. The PTI candidate secured 341 votes against 28 of Jamaat-i-Islami.
