Just when we start thinking that all is going to be well in Karachi, our hopes are invariably shattered. Not a long time ago, the city authorities, on the orders of the Supreme Court, carried out an anti-encroachment drive.
However, thousands of recreational places have not been cleared of encroachment so far. Under such circumstances, the work of the relevant department must be supervised and the authorities must be questioned over why they are taking so long to retrieve the land from land grabbers.
