This year, the government and associate groups marked Labour Day with zeal and enthusiasm - paying tribute to the labourers for their untiring efforts towards the development of Pakistan. Unfortunately, the same government and associated groups will keep mum when it comes to resolution of issues being faced by the labour class, which includes skilled workers.
They will also shut their eyes to widespread protests by farmers who lost their entire crops due to poor management and failed understanding of supply/demand by the previous caretaker government. The government should cease using insincere tributes and emotions as a shield and instead take immediate action to safeguard the interests of the labour class, collaborating closely with them for a prosperous and sustainable future.
