JUP demands arrest of MMC’s doctors

MARDAN: Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) provincial general secretary Fayyaz Khan of Gujjar Garhi on Wednesday demanded the government to immediately arrest the two doctors of Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) whose alleged negligence during surgery led to the death of a resident.

He expressed these views while addressing a press conference at the Mardan Press Club. The relatives of the deceased Bashir were also present. Fayyaz Khan added that Abbas Khan, a resident of Jhandi village in Takht Bhai tehsil, on February four took his brother Bashir Khan to the Mardan Medical Complex after he felt pain in the stomach. He added that the doctors diagnosed his brother with appendicitis and advised him surgery. The patient was admitted to the hospital on February 5 where Dr Adnan and Dr Owais conducted his surgery. He added that the doctors didn’t allow the relatives to meet the patient and in the evening, his body was brought out of the operation theatre.
