Pakistanis in UAE express solidarity with people of held Kashmir

DUBAI: Pakistani community in United Arab Emirates (UAE) expressed solidarity with the dwellers of Held Kashmir and assured support to their right to self-determination.

A large number of Pakistanis including those from the Kashmiri community in the UAE assembled in the premises of the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai as well as Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi to show solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren and to condemn the human rights violations being committed by Indian forces.

In Pakistan Consulate, Kashmiri community called upon the international community to get awareness of the dilemma of the Kashmiri people who have been subjugated by Indian occupation. The representatives of Kashmiri community mentioned in their speeches that the Indian occupation forces were involved into blatant violations of human rights in Jammu and Kashmir.

They said that it is a matter of great shame and regret that the international community including so-called world human rights champions is criminally silent over India’s continued occupation and gross human rights violations. Speakers also appealed to the international community to persuade India for peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute according to the terms of UN Security Council resolutions.

Kashmiri leaders expressed their gratitude to the people and government of Pakistan for their unflinching support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the right to self-determination. The participants appreciated the government of Pakistan and its leadership who always extended all possible support to our political movement for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.

Kashmiri leaders Sardar Javed Yaqoub, Raja Ashiq, Raja Jabbar, Sardar Altaf, Raja Mohammad Khan, Raja Rashid, Dr Shafqat, Qazi Zafar, Chaurdy Sikandar, Sardar Wajid Ali, Chaudry Farooq Chiche, Farooq Baniya and famous journalist Aamir Mehboob expressed their views at the solidarity day gathering.

During their speeches, the crowd chanted slogans of “Kashmir will become Pakistan.” Addressing the function, Consul General of Pakistan Dubai Brigadier (R) Syed Javed Hassan said that Pakistan stands by the Kashmiri people for the realisation of their right to self-determination as enshrined in the UN Security Council Resolutions. Another function was organised at Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi to observe the day. It was presided over by the envoy to the country Moazzam A Khan. The Ambassador urged all Pakistanis to renew their resolve to continue their support for the struggling Kashmiri brothers till they achieve their cherished objective. At the occasion, students of Pakistani school of Abu Dhabi sung few songs to show solidarity with Kashmiri people and paid tribute to the struggling Kashmiris and their “bravery.”
