Ras Al Khaimah, UAE now owns the world record of constructing the World’s longest zip line measuring 2.83 km which has been opened to public on 1st February.
The zipline, located 1680 metres above sea level on Jebel Jais mountain, will propel adventure-seekers at a speed of 150 km/h down the highest mountain peak of Middle East.
The official certificate was given to HH Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi by official adjudicator of Guinness World Records, Hoda Khachab.
Al Qasimi was the first person to try the zip line after it received official certification.
The zipline can take 100,000 thrill-seekers on an exciting ride in a year, with no restrictions on age, riders must be taller than 1.22 metres and not heavier than 150 kgs.
The longest ride is estimated to last for two to three minutes and riders will be propelled in a superman-like style, headfirst onto the adventure.
The temperature of the place is comparatively ten times cooler than the rest of the UAE, therefore it can operate in summers as well.
The construction is part of the drive behind attracting more tourists to the United Arab Emirates.
"The event highlights an extraordinary attraction that now puts Ras Al Khaimah with UAE as a global primary destination", said Talal Omar, country manager for Guinness World Records MENA.
