SINGAPORE CITY: Following the controversy that had gripped international media attention for quite some time now, Singapore banned the screening of a documentary named “Radiance of Resistance” that features Ahed Tamimi – a Palestinian teenager girl who was put behind bars for allegedly slapping an Israeli security official as she tried to stop him from attacking minors.
As the confrontation increased , Ahed was detained for a total of 12 charges, including incitement and throwing stones.
However, the documentary has been banned on the grounds of having a prejudice in narrative.
It also features Janna Ayyad, who is popular as the youngest teen journalist of Palestine.
Because the documentary portrays the Israel-Palestine conflict from the perspective of these women, government of Singapore believes it might instigate a division between its people.
Some also believe that the documentary is deprived of a balance in view.
