China held its unique annual Birdman competition for the eighth time this year, where a total of 17 teams were seen soaring through the skies with their unique human-powered hand gliders.

This annual Chinese competition gave the participants a chance to showcase their engineering skills by designing their own gliders to fly into the sky.

The competition was set in the Chinese province Hainan’s city of Wanning, where the total number of teams participating was 17 who were seen using self-engineered hand gliders of different styles. These hand gliders depended solely on the science of balance and wind pressure to fly efficaciously.

For this purpose, a platform was created on top of the sea where the participants dressed in diverse costumes were expected to jump with their designated gliders, covering as much distance as possible.

On this occasion where the participants were seen hopping around dressed in eccentric and fascinating costumes, one such glider came out triumphant for covering the most distance.
