Islamabad : The Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) withdrew suspension orders of two senior officers of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) who are also board members within 24 hours whereas four other CDA officers were restored only last week after a gap of one year.

The two officers including Member Administration Muhammad Yasir Pirzada and Member Engineering Asad Mehboob Kiani were suspended by the Federal Secretary CADD on December 18 after the National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq took serious notice of the lapses on part of CDA in attending to questions from the National Assembly and briefings to standing committees of the House.

The federal secretary said that the speaker had also desired for suspension of the concerned Member of the Board. “Since coordination of the National Assembly business is the prime responsibility of the Member Administration therefore, his services may be placed under suspension,” the orders said.

The federal secretary also suspended Member Engineering Asad Mehbood Kiani the same day and on the same charges through separate orders.

However, the suspension orders of the two officers were abruptly withdrawn on Tuesday. Asad Mehboob Kiani would now work against post of Member Planning as Shahid Sohail who was suspended, last year has been reinstated as Member Engineering

The CDA sources said that the CDA Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz intervened and made personal request to the speaker that the two members would be careful in responding to the parliamentary business.

It may be pointed out here ex-member Engineering Shahid Sohail and three other officers of the engineering cadre continued to face suspension for one year and they were restored on December 15. The four officers were suspended in December, last year when the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed his dissatisfaction on condition of street lights in the federal capital.
