Rawalpindi: Low gas pressure has become a matter of grave concern for the residents of various areas who are braving winter season without having the facility to use gas heater especially in the evening.
The areas where pressure of gas is quite low for last many days include Satellite Town, Sadiqabad, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, Asghar Maal, Raja Bazaar and Banni. Hira Aslam, a house wife, said the pressure of gas is low for last many days due to which they bring bread (rotis) from ‘tandoors’ and it is now happening every day.
The situation is quite serious in many areas as the people there are unable to cook and properly heat their homes in cold weather conditions. Shaukat Malik, a resident of Sadiqabad, said it costs dearly to use electric heaters but they have no other option to warm their homes. He said the recent rains have caused further decrease in temperature and cold weather poses dangers to the health of the people.
