suspension of admission process in FMC have made a fervent appeal to the related higher authorities in federal government as well as PMDC for finding out an amicable solution to lift up the bar on FMC, enabling this institution to make fresh admissions of candidates belonging to medical profession. They also urged the management of the FMC for fulfilling terms and conditions required in medical law.
Official spokesman of PIMS, Dr. Mohammad Saeed, dealing with this matter, agreed that the process of admission was barred by PMDC in FMC due to failure of not meeting requirements. However, this official informed that the lack of requirements was not that severe rather PMDC raised objection over some deficiency in faculty.
Elaborating Dr Saeed said that the FMC established by PIMS is appointing teaching staff besides other employees on contract basis. Similarly, packages being paid to teaching staff is around average level. However, he said that the deficiency in faculty has been removed greatly and PMDC has now issued permission to FMC for admitting fresh medical students.
With the lift of ban, the institution would invite applications from fresh candidates for admission in the college, he said. All this process would be completed by end of the current month and advertisement for inviting applications for admissions in the college would be floated in print media in first week of March, this year, Dr Saeed confirmed.
However, official spokesperson of PMDC, Ms Hina Shaukat, while commenting on the issue, denied the claims of Dr. Saeed that PMDC had lifted the ban on enrolling fresh students. She informed that as the FMC has yet not removed deficiencies in faculty as such PMDC has not permitted it to enrol fresh students. Moreover, according to the ban, FMC could not even register the two old batches of students. Not only PMDC has barred FMC from registering fresh students but even NAB has banned this institution from doing so, she cleared.
