Rangers arrested five men including some from banned outfits in separate raids on Tuesday.
A spokesman for the paramilitary force said raids were conducted in PIB Colony, North Karachi, Qasba Colony and Lyari; weapons, hand grenade as well as Jihadi literature were recovered from their possession.

Extortionist held
Special Investigation Unit SSP Mohammad Farooq Awan said the force arrested two extortionists, Hassan alias Fateh alias Malangi and Nadir Khan, with two pistols and bullets near Maskan Chowrangi in Gulshan Iqbal. The suspects were said to be using the name of Taliban for bhatta and had extorted Rs800,000 from trnsporters and were again demanding Rs1 million from them.
