PAT praises NAB for probe into ‘corruption’ in 56 firms

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has appreciated the NAB’s move to investigate alleged misappropriations in 56 companies of the Punjab government.
In a letter to the NAB chairman, whose copies were sent to the press on Tuesday, south Punjab PAT president Fayyaz Warriach, central Punjab Basharat Aziz Jaspal, and north Punjab president Brig (Retd) Mushtaq Lila described the NAB’s move as a positive step to eliminate corruption. They drew the NAB chairman’s attention towards Sasti Roti, Food Support and Ashiana Schemes, and stressed the need to probe these schemes too. They said Sasti Roti scheme is Rs 30billion embezzlement case, and most of its record was destroyed.
