ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has formally launched implementation of File Management module of E-Office Suite at its headquarters. This first step towards e-governance has been taken with the collaboration of National Information Technology Board (NITB), Ministry of IT.
Initially, four departments of Pemra i.e. Admin Wing, Finance Wing, Internal Audit Wing and Technical/IT Wing, are going to implement this new system to be followed by other departments in the coming weeks.
The scope and area of operations of Pemra is increasing day by day and currently an approximate number of 250 employees are posted at the Pemra Headquarters in addition to more than 350 posted at 14 regional offices as well as sub-offices across the country.
There is day-to-day internal communication made through written correspondence, which sometime takes quite a long time to reach a final decision even in important and urgent cases. The new system will enable the regulator to timely and speedily dispose of matters related to internal communication of PEMRA, says a Pemra press release issued here.
