More rain likely in various parts of country

Islamabad: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Thursday forecast more rain-thunderstorm, with light snowfall over the hills, for isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad, upper FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 24 hours.
Hailstorm is also expected at a few places in Rawalpindi, Hazara divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir during the period. Cold and dry weather is expected at other parts of the country. According to the synoptic situation, a shallow westerly wave was still affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next two days.
The rainfall (mm) recorded during the last 24 hours was Punjab: Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 10, Chaklala 07), Islamabad (Bokra, Saidpur 7, Golra 6, Zero Point 3), Murree 6, Lahore (PBO 6, Airport 5, Punjab University 1), Kasur 5, Mangla, Jhelum, Gujranwala 1, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Saidu Sharif, Kakul 6, Parachinar, Balakot 2, Kashmir: Muzaffarabad 5, Garhi Dupatta 4, Rawalakot 3, Kotli 2. The lowest minimum temperatures recorded were Kalat, Skardu -4 C, Quetta and Kalam -2C.
