Dacoit carrying Rs1 million headmoney killed in encounter, say police

NAWABSHAH: Police claimed to have killed a dacoit carrying Rs1 million head-money in an encounter. Police further said however, three accomplices of the killed were successful in escaping from the scene. SSP Tanweer Hussain Tunio told media that police surrounded an agriculture field near 54 Mori area on secret information, where dacoit Qurban Chandio was hiding with his gang members. The dacoits sensed the danger and opened fire at the police. He said that the police fired back in retaliation which killed wanted dacoit Qurban Chandio, while other gang members escaped. The SSP said that the dacoit was wanted in 27 cases of kidnapping and ransom. Police recovered a pistol and live rounds from his custody.
